Blog of the Dead - Sophie is available now to download from Amazon for £2.02
Day One: Nineteen-year-old Sophie wakes to a terrifying
voicemail message from her friend Laura. Through screams and the
sound of pounding feet, all she can make out is ‘... took her face
off …’
Sophie heads to the university to search for Laura but
it’s sealed off by police. Later, riots break out in the High
Street with fatal consequences. The dead, well, they’re rising to
feast on the living. And when her housemate, Richard, is bitten in
the violence, the plague is brought too close to home.
In the dystopian world of the living dead, Sophie
decides to document her experiences in a blog. With a zombie in her
bedroom, and with sleazy Sam and potty mouthed drama queen, Leanne
for zombie apocalypse partners, things aren’t great. And they’re
going to get a whole lot worse. When hunger forces Sophie and her
friends out into the zombie infested streets of Folkestone, Kent,
they meet other survivors, big guys with iron bars and psychos. And
they discover a nifty skill for killing zombies. Sophie has a plan –
to rebuild the town and create a secure community. But like the best
laid plans …
Powerful friendships are quickly formed and even
quicker lost, and in the daily fight for survival, Sophie learns that
zombies are not always the biggest threat.
Reviews:
‘Sophie
is fantastic - she would kick Katniss Everdeen's ass in a heartbeat.
Bella Swan need not apply. A fantastically drawn character who I
would definitely want on my Z-Day apocalypse dream team’
‘I
romped through it quickly, dreamed about it that night, talked about
it the next day. I found certain areas really got under my skin and
made me wonder’
‘There
are 2 twists to the ‘standard’ zombie story that blew my mind!’
‘Two
totally original takes on the zombies themselves, that I have never
seen in other books or films of this genre’
‘There
is wit, humour, terror, compassion and anger in these characters ...’
‘It
stands out from the majority of zombie apocalypse genre books in
writing style and plot’
‘If
you appreciate good writing with a splat of black humour, this is
definitely for you!’
‘A
vicious slice of doubt into what should be a simple ‘kill zombies,
stay alive’ world’
